We’re excited to recognize Ann R for the incredible impact she continues to make at our Roselle Park clinic!

Ann is a dedicated BT who consistently goes above and beyond to support our clients and families. Her support in providing Spanish translation during intakes has helped families feel heard and supported—and has directly contributed to welcoming several new clients to our clinic.

Her contagious positivity brings warmth and energy to our team, and her contributions to community events truly reflect the spirit of teamwork and generosity that defines our clinic. Thank you, Ann, for all that you do! 💙

Read Ellen’s story 👇

“My interest in special education began in high school when I volunteered to coordinate an afterschool tutoring program at a local parish. From an early age, I was surrounded by strong women, both at home and in the classroom, who encouraged service and commitment to “making a difference”.

As my role changed from teacher to consultant to psychologist, I realized the common denominator across my career path was always students with significant medical, developmental, and physical needs. My interest in interventions for behavioral and academic challenges prompted my pursuit of a PhD form Fordham University in Educational Psychology.

At First Children, I have been given the support and freedom to put theory into practice. It is a pleasure and privilege to collaborate with staff who share my passion for special education.”

“I became a BCBA in 2019, just before the pandemic, after starting as a paraprofessional and discovering my passion for the field in an ABA-based, self-contained classroom.

Early in my career as a BCBA, I knew First Children Services was the right fit. Over the past 6 years, the women in leadership have mentored me and shaped me into an impactful supervisor and advocate.

Now as Regional Director, I love collaborating with my team and other professionals. Supporting BCBAs and behavior technicians, solving challenges, and hearing positive feedback keeps me motivated every day.

With so many women on our leadership team, it’s empowering to create meaningful change for the families we serve"
