🚀 SPEED BREAKDOWN: ACCELERATION MECHANICS 🚀
Acceleration isn’t about moving your legs fast… it’s about applying FORCE the right way. Let’s break this down 👇
🔥1️⃣ 45° Body Angle
In the first 10–20 yards, the body should project forward at about a 45° angle.
This allows the athlete to push BACK into the ground and move FORWARD explosively.
Too upright too early = wasted power.
🔥 2️⃣ Straight Line: Shoulder → Hip → Ankle
Notice the clean diagonal line from the shoulder through the hip down to the ankle on the drive leg.
That’s efficient force transfer.
That’s power.
That’s acceleration.
🔥 3️⃣ Dorsiflexed Toe (Toe Up to Shin)
Toe up = ankle locked in.
This creates stiffness at ground contact and reduces wasted movement.
Fast sprinters strike with intention — not loose ankles.
Speed isn’t magic.
It’s mechanics.
It’s force.
It’s reps done right.
