FOX Rehabilitation

FOX Rehabilitation FOX rehabilitates lives. Our clinicians provide clinically excellent care to older adults.

FOX is a primarily clinician-operated, professional private practice of full-time physical and occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and fitness specialists, built on the foundation of Geriatric House Calls™. The practice has always stayed true to its mission of rehabilitating lives by believing in the strength of people. Clinicians are given the autonomy to provide clinically exc

ellent care through evidence-based interventions and best practice guidelines. Within FOX Rehabilitation, our culture is one of respect and hard work. Our private practice is built around support systems to give clinicians the tools they need to succeed while achieving professional fulfillment. Every colleague is equally important to the success of FOX Rehabilitation; it is this philosophy that creates a supportive atmosphere!

Congratulations to Kate Haffner, OTR/L from our Massachusetts Southwest 1 team for being recognized as our Colleague of the Month for April! 🎉

Kate was nominated by Ali Cisto, PT, DPT who wrote:

"I would like to nominate Kate for FOX Colleague of the Month in recognition of her consistent dedication and commitment to going above and beyond in her role. Kate has been a valued member of the team at All American Assisted Living Facility for over seven years. During that time, she has become deeply ingrained in both the staff and resident community, building strong relationships and fostering a supportive, collaborative environment. Her presence is not only reliable but uplifting, and she always finds the time to lend a helping hand wherever it’s needed.

"On a personal level, Kate has played a significant role in my own professional growth. She has been instrumental in helping me transition into the building and has provided ongoing guidance as I’ve navigated the responsibilities of a lead clinician. Her willingness to share her knowledge, answer questions, and offer encouragement has made a meaningful difference. In addition, Kate has devoted countless hours to teaching and supporting me with documentation. I value her expertise, patience, and willingness to help. Kate exemplifies professionalism, teamwork, and compassion in everything she does. She is truly deserving of this recognition."

At 94 years old, Katherine Shannon refused to let a hip fracture define her. 💪

After undergoing a partial hip replacement just five months ago, she fully committed to occupational therapy with Rachel Moore, OTR/L, MSOT and the results speak for themselves.

Today, she’s back to walking miles around her neighborhood and has even returned to gardening, an activity that brings her so much joy and purpose! 🪴

Her journey is a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to get stronger and reclaim the activities that matter most. Katherine says she’s so glad to be back doing what she loves and that’s exactly what OT is all about.

This , we’re celebrating stories like Katherine’s that show how occupational therapy helps people live better, longer! 🧡

🎤 Finding His Voice Again 🎤

After moving to Bickford, Rodney set a heartfelt goal: to regain the strength and endurance he once had as an auctioneer. But significant shortness of breath made even simple activities exhausting, let alone projecting his voice the way he used to. Daily tasks felt challenging, and his dream of returning to auctioneering seemed far out of reach.

Bickford’s HigherPath approach brought the team together to help Rodney rebuild his confidence, strength, and breath control.

✅ FOX Therapy’s occupational therapist, Kari, provided twice‑weekly therapy focused on endurance and breathing techniques
✅ Targeted exercises strengthened Rodney’s functional abilities and improved his breathing control
✅ He was added to HigherPath weekly calls, ensuring ongoing coordination and communication among his entire care team
✅ Nursing and Curana Health collaborated closely, sharing updates and planning his progress together

Rodney’s hard work—and the team’s unified support—paid off. His endurance improved so much that he graduated from FOX Therapy and achieved his personal goal. He successfully conducted two one‑hour auctions without breaks, and it has now become a monthly event the whole community looks forward to.

Rodney shares his pride with a smile, knowing he feels more like the auctioneer he once was—and now gets to be again.

As we celebrate International Dance Day, we’re taking a look back at this beautiful patient success story! 💃 Our patient Bobby has Parkinson’s disease and spinal stenosis, but he didn’t let that stop him from enjoying a very special moment with his daughter on her big day! 👰‍♀️💍

He worked very hard with physical therapist Moira Vayda PT, MS on strategies to avoid and get through freezing episodes as well as turning and gait mechanics, and there was one very emotional practice session with his daughter in their home before the big day - the beauty of treating in peoples’ homes! 🏡

He was able to walk his daughter down the aisle beautifully and as you can see, he crushed the father daughter dance! Voira’s daughter and her friends also made him a “think big” friendship bracelet to remind him to use the BIG principles! 🧡

From daily routines to meaningful moments, OT helps people get back to doing what matters most. For Lyle, that means doing his own laundry again.

Here’s to the power of OT and helping our patients live better, longer! 🦊

Incredible goals are being met at Keystone Villa at Douglassville with FOX Stronger Living! 🦊🙌

Marking one year since our program’s introduction, the community recognized 15 residents for their participation, progress, and commitment to their health and well-being.

Among those honored, Relda Lockwood and Martha Gentry received the Wellness Warrior Ambassador Award for their dedication to the program.

Before joining FOX Stronger Living, Lockwood relied on a wheelchair and assistance to move throughout her day. Through physical therapy with FOX Rehabilitation, she progressed to using a walker, gradually rebuilding strength and confidence.

With the right support, these residents are proving that it’s never too late to get stronger and live better, longer! 💪

Why should completing an Ironman in your 80s be a headline? 💪 On this week’s podcast, FOX’s Chief Strategy and Growth Officer, Jason Hazel, PT, DPT, shares a powerful perspective on aging and why living better, longer should be the norm, not the exception.

Inspired by the book Function: Turn Your Blind Spots into Strength by Scott B. Fulton, this conversation explores how focusing on strength, mobility, balance, and more can help you age optimally and how FOX Wellness supports that journey every step of the way.
