Allergies don’t just make your nose run—they can wreck your eyes too. 👁️🌿
If your eyes are itchy, red, watery, or puffy, it’s often allergy-related… and the #1 mistake we see is rubbing (it usually makes it worse).

Try this instead:
✅ Cold compress for quick relief
✅ Chilled artificial tears (preservative free!)
✅ Rinse lids/lashes after outdoor time
✅ Use allergy drops consistently (not just once in a while)

And here’s the tricky part: allergies and dry eye often overlap, so watery eyes don’t always mean you’re “making too many tears.”

If symptoms are lingering or your vision is fluctuating, we can help sort out what’s driving it and build the right plan. The EVEA team is ready to help you this season and all year long!

Tuesday Tip: Dark circles + puffy under-eyes 👀
Most under-eye “circles” and puffiness come from a mix of thin skin, genetics, allergies/sinus congestion, sleep quality, salt/alcohol, and fluid retention—so the best results come from a few small habits:

✅ Cold compress (60–90 seconds) in the morning (spoon/gel mask works great)
✅ Sleep with your head slightly elevated to reduce fluid pooling
✅ Hydrate + ease up on salty dinners (especially the night before)
✅ If allergies are a factor: treat the allergies + don’t rub your eyes
✅ Use a caffeine + peptide under-eye product in the morning
✅ Use a clinical grade eye product at night + daily SPF

Real talk: If circles are mostly from genetics or natural under-eye hollowness, skincare helps—but you may need in-office options for a bigger change.

Let's have some fun today....Did you know? 👁️

The cornea (the clear “window” at the front of your eye) is the only part of the body with no blood supply. Instead, it gets the oxygen and nutrients it needs from your tears and the fluid inside your eye—which helps keep it crystal clear for vision.

Pretty amazing, right?🤓

Dry eye treatment isn’t just eye drops anymore... 👁️

If you’ve heard about IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) for dry eye, here’s the most important thing to know: it can be an excellent option for the right patient, especially when dry eye is related to meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD)/evaporative dry eye and inflammation.

At our office, we don’t guess. We evaluate the cause of your symptoms first, then build a treatment plan based on your findings.

✨ IPL is often used as part of a series and may be combined with other therapies depending on your diagnosis.
✨ Dry eye is typically chronic, so the goal is long-term improvement and a maintenance plan—not just a quick fix.

If your eyes burn, sting, feel gritty, or your vision fluctuates (especially on screens), it may be time for a dry eye evaluation.

AMD Prevention = small habits, big payoff. 👁️

Macular degeneration (AMD) affects the macula—the part of your retina responsible for sharp, detailed central vision. You can’t always prevent AMD, but you can lower your risk and catch changes early.

It's AMD awareness month. Here's what you need to know!🧐

Dry and Wet AMD both affect the macula (your sharp central vision), but they behave very differently. Dry AMD is usually gradual, while Wet AMD can change vision quickly and needs urgent attention. If straight lines suddenly look wavy, or you notice a dark spot in your central vision, call right away—early treatment can make a big difference.

Education and prevention is key. Book an appointment online at evea2020.com or call us at (757)436-3937. Your eyes will thank you 🙏

If it’s bright enough to squint, it’s bright enough for sunglasses. 😎

Clouds don’t block UV the way people think they do—and glare is often worse on hazy days.

Quick checklist for real protection:
🕶️ 100% UVA/UVB
🚗 Polarized for driving and water
🧢 Bigger coverage (your eyelids need protection too)

Pro tip: If you’re squinting while driving or leaving outdoor sports practice with a headache, glare may be the real culprit—polarized sunglasses are for you!
