Many patients are surprised by how gentle NUCCA spinal corrections feel. NUCCA doctors use x-ray analysis and measurements to identify how the top bone in the neck (the atlas) has shifted. Because this method relies on math and biomechanics rather than twisting or forceful movements, the correction remains very light.

A NUCCA adjustment is calculated from each patient’s unique measurements—such as how the head is tilting, how the atlas has shifted, and how the upper neck is positioned. These findings determine the exact correction vector used during the adjustment. A small, controlled pressure is applied at the atlas to gently guide it back toward a more neutral position—no popping, cracking, or twisting involved. This is why NUCCA is both gentle and highly precise. As alignment improves, the upper cervical spine becomes more stable and the body can begin to function more normally again.
