With all that’s going on in our country, it felt good to go back to my hometown and speak to the 5th graders at Ahoskie Elementary. As they start their new journeys as middle schoolers, I hope they’re protected.

The increase in mass shootings in our country is disheartening and fearful. For many of us, this may create anger, and fear or trigger our mental health symptoms. Take a moment to disconnect from the media if needed.

To the families who were impacted by the recent Maas shootings, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. As a nation, it is time that we continue to effortlessly guide our youth to make the right choices and not choose hate or things that can harm innocent people. 🫶🏾
