Yesterday, Chris Mulhall, Senior Program Manager, Workforce Development at Community Health Center Association of Connecticut stopped by the Torrington Health Center to present CHWC with Nursing Resource manuals to better support new staff and preceptors. We are thankful for partners like CHC/ACT for their support.

⌛Back in 2023, the CT General Assembly passed legislation requiring Medicaid reimbursement for Community Health Worker (CHW) services - a critical step toward better access and healthier communities.

Yet nearly three years later, these services still aren’t fully implemented.

In our new opinion piece, CHC/ACT, Connecticut Association for Community Action, Health Equity Solutions, and Southwest AHEC urge the state to finally move this forward.

CHWs help people navigate care, address social needs, and improve health outcomes. Their role will only become more essential as Connecticut begins implementing requirements under HR 1.

Let's get it done!

More than two years after it was promised, Connecticut’s Medicaid program still does not cover community health worker services.

✨ CHC/ACT & CT health centers took to the Capitol today to meet with our Congressional delegation.

We thanked them for their longstanding support of health centers, asked for their attention to 340B and Medicare telehealth, and gave well-deserved awards to our delegation.

🦷🪥Today CHC/ACT participated in Cohi -- Ct Oral Health Initiative 2026 Oral Health Summit. This gathering provided excellent opportunities for networking & discussing the strengths and challenges of CT’s oral health landscape.

💡✨Did you know? CT’s Community Health Centers provided oral health care to over 86,000 people in 2024! That’s a lot of teeth!! 🦷🦷

What an incredible weekend at the Clinical Leadership Development Institute!

We were honored to welcome 33 dedicated professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, behavioral health specialists, dental providers, and more, from 8 states for an intensive 2-day leadership training.

A huge thank you to National Association of Community Health Centers for your collaboration and partnership. We can’t wait to see these amazing leaders take the next steps in their careers and continue driving innovation and excellence in Community Health!
