We are proud to spotlight Griswold-referred Caregiver, Amah Dorley! See him pictured here with our Director, Peter.

Amah has been a Caregiver for over 25 years, making a difference in countless lives. For 18 of those years, he has worked as a Griswold-referred Caregiver with our Chester & Lancaster Counties office.

Here’s what Amah had to say:

"The Caregiver career is a progressive career where I meet people of diverse backgrounds. It also gives me the opportunities to learn about different people, cultures, economic and political backgrounds. I chose Griswold because the office gave me the opportunity to be independent and develop myself personally. This career has allowed me to get to know people from different levels of lifestyles. I have the opportunity to learn new ways of dealing with situations on the job, in my personal life, or in my clients' personal lives."

We’re grateful to have Amah as part of our dedicated Caregiver community and appreciate all of the hard work and dedication!

The Griswold Story

Griswold Home Care was founded by the late Jean Griswold in 1982, making us the oldest non-medical home care franchise organization in the country. While we operate in a growing industry with many respected competitors, we are unique. We call the characteristics that make us unique our Griswoldness. Those characteristics come directly from Jean Griswold.

About Jean Griswold

Our founder, Jean Griswold, was a care professional who became a visionary entrepreneur when she started the first non-medical home care franchise in the United States while running her own home care business.

Jean started at her dining room table in 1982 in suburban Philadelphia. Her husband, Minister and Doctor Lincoln Griswold, informed her that an elderly woman in their parish had died through the complications associated with malnutrition and dehydration because she had no support system to care for her. Jean was deeply saddened by what she felt was an easily preventable tragedy. She was driven to act.
