There’s an assumption in healing and helping professions that doesn’t get questioned nearly enough.
That if someone is in the role of practitioner, coach, therapist, or healer, they’ve done their inner work. That they’re grounded, self-aware, and operating from a place of clarity.
That assumption creates risk.
Training, certifications, and intuitive ability don’t automatically translate into self-awareness. And when that deeper work hasn’t been done, it shows up in the way someone guides, responds, and holds power in the relationship.
At the same time, many people seeking support are already used to looking outside of themselves for answers. So they come into these relationships without discernment, and often without realizing it, begin to hand their power over.
That dynamic can be subtle, but it has real impact.
This is something that matters for both sides.
In this video, I break down how these patterns form, how unhealed trauma shows up in practitioners, and what to watch for—both in yourself and in the people you choose to work with.
If you’re in this space in any capacity, this is an important conversation.
