Mr. Heyward Smith, Sr., of 542 Carolina Drive, Chester, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest at his home on Thursday, April 23, 2026.

Born on September 30, 1953, in Fairfield County, South Carolina, he was the beloved son of the late John Smith, Sr. and Emma Glenn Smith.

Mr. Smith was a devoted husband to Kathy M. Smith and a loving father to Heyward (JáVonna) Smith, Zane (Asha) Smith, and Cierra S. White. He was also a proud grandfather of five.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul.” — Psalm 23:1–3

The family will receive friends at the home beginning Friday, April 24, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. daily.

Braylon was born on January 20, 2011, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, to his loving mother, Rylan DeAnn Jackson. He was deeply cherished by his family and friends, and will be remembered for the joy, light, and love he brought into the lives of all who knew him.
