As a BIRTH doula, I accompany women in labor to help ensure a safe and satisfying birth experience. I have completed training approved by DONA International, and have experience delivering 3 babies of my own. I draw on my professional training, knowledge and experience to provide emotional support, physical comfort and, as needed, communication with the staff to ensure you have information you need to make informed decisions as they arise in labor. I can provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation, soothing tough, positioning and other techniques for comfort. As your doula, I am working for you, not your caregiver or hospital. As a POSTPARTUM doula, I work with families during one of the most exciting and stressful times in their lives. I care for the mother, baby and family as a whole. I provide non-medical support and companionship, assist with newborn care and sibling adjustment (including pets), meal preparation and household organization. I can offer evidence based information on infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from childbirth and other issues related to the postpartum period, as well as make referrals, if necessary.
