Yesterday may have been beautiful, heavy, joyful, overwhelming, or all the above — the heart often holds more than one emotion after a holiday.

Today, I want to offer you a gentle reset:

1️⃣ Take 3 slow breaths.
Breathing helps your nervous system settle and reminds your body it is safe.

2️⃣ Name what you’re feeling — without judging it.
“I feel tired.”
“I feel grateful.”
“I feel a little drained.”
Naming emotions brings clarity and compassion.

3️⃣ Release what wasn’t yours to carry yesterday.
Emotional weight. Family expectations. Pressure to perform.
You can let it go now.

4️⃣ Do one thing that brings you peace today.
A short walk, a warm drink, a quiet moment with GOD, journaling, or simple rest.

Healing isn’t just found in therapy sessions — it’s cultivated in the way we care for ourselves between the big moments.

💬 How is your heart feeling today? Answer gently, honestly.

Happy Thanksgiving from Behind The Veil Consultations, PLLC.

Today, whether your table is full, quiet, joyful, or tender, I pray you experience moments of peace and grace.

The holidays can stir both gratitude and emotion — and it’s okay to hold space for it all.

May you find rest where you need it…
Strength where it feels heavy…
And reminders of GOD’S faithfulness in the small, quiet places.

Thank you for being part of this community.
I’m grateful for every heart committed to healing, growth, and wholeness.

Wishing you a gentle and meaningful day.

Thanksgiving is almost here — and for many, it’s a blend of gratitude, joy, weariness, and unspoken emotions.

If this week feels full, complicated, or tender, you are not alone.

“Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1

Gratitude is not pretending everything is perfect.
Gratitude is recognizing GOD’S presence in the midst of everything we’re navigating.

Whether your heart feels full or stretched, may you find quiet moments of peace, connection, and hope.

Save this for a gentle reminder tomorrow.

The holidays can bring joy, but they can also stir up old emotions, family tension, or quiet grief.

As Thanksgiving approaches, here are three boundaries that can help protect your emotional and spiritual well-being:

1) You can step away when conversations become overwhelming.
You don't have to explain your exit.

2) You can choose peace over pressure.
You don't have to attend every gathering or stay longer than you're comfortable.

3) You can be grateful AND still honor what hurts.
Gratitude doesn't erase your reality-it simply makes room for hope.

Remember: Boundaries don't make you distant. They make you healthy.

What's one boundary you want to honor this week?

You don’t have to choose between prayer and processing — God meets you in both.

Therapy gives space for what prayer reveals.
Prayer gives strength for what therapy uncovers.

When you invite God into your healing journey, it becomes a place where both your heart and your mind are cared for.

If you’ve ever felt guilty for seeking help, release that today. Healing is not a lack of faith — it’s a reflection of your courage to face what hurts.

God works through safety, through support, and yes… through trained professionals who help you navigate the deeper layers of your story.

❤️ Save this as your reminder: You are not choosing one or the other. You are choosing wholeness.

Many people wonder if seeking therapy conflicts with their faith — but the truth is, therapy can support the very healing we pray for.

Here are a few common misunderstandings:

Myth 1: “If I really trusted God, I wouldn’t need therapy.”
Truth: Therapy doesn’t replace God — it gives language to what your faith is already carrying.

Myth 2: “Therapists will pull me away from my faith.”
Truth: A faith-integrated therapist honors your spiritual foundation while supporting your emotional wellbeing.

Myth 3: “Talking about my pain means I’m not strong enough.”
Truth: Courage is found in seeking help. Healing requires community, support, and sometimes professional guidance.

🌿 Faith and therapy aren’t competitors. They are a powerful combination when approached with wisdom and intention.

Some wounds run deeper than words can reach.
And yet, even there — in that quiet ache — GOD draws near.

Psalm 34:18 reminds us: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Faith doesn’t always take away the pain, but it anchors us while we heal. Therapy creates space to process what faith sustains. Together, they help us move from surviving to living whole.

Today, breathe deeply and remind your heart: You’re not forgotten. You’re not too broken. You are seen.

November is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month — and at Behind The Veil Consultations, we want to pause and speak directly to our Black and Brown brothers.

Too many men have been taught to carry pain in silence — to be the protector, the provider, and the strong one, even when their own souls are weary. But strength isn’t found in silence. It’s found in honesty, healing, and the courage to reach out for help.

Your emotions are not a weakness — they’re an invitation to healing. Your story is not a burden — it’s a testimony of resilience. Your mental health is not an afterthought — it’s essential to your wholeness.

This month, let’s continue the conversation. Let’s check on our brothers, fathers, sons, and friends. Let’s normalize therapy, faith, and emotional wellness for men of color. Because healing doesn’t just change one man — it transforms families and communities.

Within the Body of Christ, we’ve often ignored or misdiagnosed mental and emotional pain—telling people to “just pray” when what they need is also therapy, support, and safe space to heal.

Christian psychotherapy doesn’t replace GOD—it helps HIS people walk in the healing HE desires for the whole person—mind, soul, and spirit.

Some things need prayer.
Some things need processing.
Some things need both.
