The Intracept procedure is a minimally invasive, outpatient procedure that targets a nerve located in the spine. It is indicated for patients who have experienced chronic low back pain for at least six months and have not responded to at least six months of conservative care, in addition to having certain findings noted on their MRI.

During the procedure, the surgeon advances a specialized probe into the vertebrae and uses radiofrequency energy to heat and disable the nerve, blocking it from transmitting pain signals. The procedure takes approximately 60-90 minutes and does not involve an implant nor change the structure of the spine.

This procedure takes on a new approach and is performed by Dr. Nadeem Khan, spine interventionist, in order to help provide long-term relief for patients suffering from chronic low back pain.

Come into our clinic today to see if you are a candidate for this procedure! Give us a call at 804-715-4709 to make an appointment or visit our website, http://ipssva.com/
