Parkdale Center

Parkdale Center Parkdale Center for Professionals specializes in full-spectrum treatment of substance use disorder. They may even be facing legal action.

Parkdale serves professionals throughout North America by helping those suffering with substance use find success in recovery for themselves, their families, and their career. Our patients are typically well-educated, successful, career-minded people. They include doctors, nurses, lawyers, pilots, business owners, and executives, among many others. Naturally, the consequences of their substance use can be severe and life-changing. They may be in danger of losing their jobs, their licenses, and their certifications. Parkdale Center offers a 4-6 week Partial Hospitalization Program where patients live onsite in an open, sober living environment. We also offer flexible and secure tele-health Intensive Outpatient and Aftercare Programs. To support loved ones, we offer weekly Family Support Zoom meetings. We also conduct regular, in-person Family Programs designed to educate and empower our patients' families and loved ones. We also offer career retention and restoration assistance and support so our patients can keep or regain their jobs, certifications, and licenses. Parkdale Center itself is beautiful, quiet, and private but easily accessible by all means of travel. We are near many local amenities like restaurants and shops, just 10 minutes from Indiana Dunes National Park, an hour east of Chicago, and an hour west of South Bend, IN. Parkdale Center does accept private insurance. Unfortunately, we do not participate in Medicare, Medicaid, or any public, state-funded insurance programs.

Originally constructed in the 1920s by James Packard, founder of Packard Motors, this beautiful facility first served as a summer retreat for the Packard Estate. It’s proximity to major metropolitan cities despite being spacious and private was as appealing in the 1920s as it is today.

In the 1970s, the facility was converted into one of the most popular bed and breakfast establishments in the Midwest. It has welcomed and housed hundreds of guests throughout the Country for people looking for rest, serenity and the beauty of nature. The facility is now used as the perfect location to begin healing, self-reflection, and the road to wellness at the Parkdale Center.

We don’t just want you to meet your potential; we want you to form a relationship with it. The time post-IOP is referred to as “Aftercare,” which, for many, leads to new beginnings. Long-term sobriety is attainable, but it doesn’t happen the minute you quit using.

It takes the creation and development of a support system. At Parkdale, we are dedicated to helping everyone acquire support—the professional in recovery, the family, the employer, and anyone willing to engage.

At Parkdale, we understand the importance of aftercare and are committed to helping all individuals access quality care. Learn more!

At Parkdale Center, we know that everyone’s needs are different when it comes to treating substance use disorders (SUD). Some people who are struggling with a SUD can experience symptoms of withdrawal when they stop using drugs or alcohol.

The effects of withdrawal on the body and mind can differ from person to person, but they can be uncomfortable and dangerous when not addressed correctly. Withdrawal symptoms typically occur 6-24 hours after someone with a dependence stops using. The severity and duration of withdrawal are dependent on the length of time abusing the substance, the type of substance abused, family history, and medical and mental health history.

Parkdale’s Withdrawal Management Program gives you guided, individualized support throughout your withdrawal. Get in touch!

Everyone brings something with them to work: stress, self-doubt, old patterns, invisible battles. Most of us just learn to hide the shadows we don’t want anyone to see. But shadows don’t make you weak; they’re signs that you’ve been carrying more than anyone knows.

If you’re tired of holding it all together alone, support exists - and you deserve it.

Addiction affects everyone. Families often enable the addicted individual to maintain balance.

The same thing occurs in the workplace. When the addiction finally reveals itself in the workplace it is often asked:“Why didn’t anyone say something sooner?” After looking more closely it is apparent that the talons of addiction are not only embedded in the addict, but also in the families and coworkers that unknowingly enable their behavior.
