Hey Kent County neighbors, it's time to SAVE THE DATE for WellFest at Wilmer, May 16, 2026 from 10am-2pm at Wilmer Park in Chestertown!
An event for whole community — we'll be celebrating “all things health” for neighbors of all ages in a fun, welcoming atmosphere. We’re shining a spotlight on every aspect of wellness, including:
• Physical Health: Move, stretch, and discover ways to keep your body strong and active.
• Mental Health: Find resources to support a healthy, happy mind.

If you or someone you know is looking to be free of an old vehicle, HomePorts has officially launched our VEHICLE DONATION PROGRAM!! We accept cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, RVs, golf carts and farm equipment. RUNNING OR NOT. And the process is simple and straightforward. Simply visit homeports.org/donate, complete the online vehicle donation form with information regarding the vehicle to be donated. And we'll take care of the rest. Vehicle towing, pickup, title transfer, everything! And the best part is? You'll be helping a great cause, and your donation is tax-deductible.

If you or someone you know are helping to care for an aging loved one living in Kent County - from near or afar — and would like support with things like transportation, shopping, and small household projects, call HomePorts about a membership for them today! It’s what we do every day of the year. So that you and they can be healthy and at peace. The attached article is chock-full of the latest research on Caregiving in the US.

We DID it! Yesterday marked HomePorts' first volunteer-provided ride to Easton for a doctor visit for one of our members!! Getting to Easton for even routine medical care is becoming more and more important to so many residents of Kent County. We're proud to be part of the solution, and to offer this service to our members. If you know someone who could benefit from Easton transportation, please send them our way! We're standing by to discuss all the benefits of a HomePorts membership.

Whew, it was a chilly one at the Farmers Market this past Saturday morning — the kind of cold that makes you wish you’d brought your blankie!

Lucky for our Board VP Gale, Drenning, she had a bin of cozy quilts on hand — all made with love by our very own Olde Town Quilters right here in Chestertown. These talented ladies create the most beautiful quilts and even turn their leftover scraps into sweet lap blankets for our new members.

Come say hi at the Farmers Market every other Saturday and see what we’re up to! Or give us a call at 443-480-0940 — we’re always happy to share what’s happening (and maybe wrap you up in a little warmth while we’re at it).

HomePorts is thrilled to welcome Fannie Hobba-Shenk and Nensi Fiorenini to our Board of Directors! Fannie joins us from Washington College where she worked for more than 15 years in roles that included Alumni Engagement Director, Associate Director of Advancement, Major Gift Officer, Reunion Giving Officer and Administrative Assistant for Advancement. Nensi has most recently served as Chairman of the Board for the Senior Citizens Lobby in Washington, DC. where she's represented the interests and advocated for the well-being of senior citizens at the policy level, while shifting the organizational focus to social security reform. Welcome Fannie and Nensi!
