Today was a sad day for me, to learn about the death of someone who was so instrumental in my success as a massage therapist.

I met Dorothy Feldman back in January of 2017. The realtor we had purchased our home though sent me a photo of the for rent sign at 1807 Logan Avenue. She knew it had been empty for some time and thought it may work for my first location.
I called and set an appointment to go look.

When I walked into that office, I was immediately transported back in time, to being a little girl and hanging out at my father’s welding shop. I was sure that out back I would find a big shop. The energy of that office was like coming home.

The office was perfect, and when I heard the rent I couldn’t believe my ears!! I grabbed it! How had this office sat empty for 6 years before me being led to it??? There is no way i would have built BeYu to what it is without the support of having that first office.

During my first 2 years at that office, I got to know Dorothy. An absolutely fantastic human being! I have never met anyone to match her. Her humbleness and humility, she was phenomenal. Always encouraging me, she thought I had something very special.

One day she told me she had to apologize, because when she first met me, she thought I was like her mother, that I was hard on Kayla and controlling. But she said after years of observing us, she knew she was wrong. And she loved Kayla. They had a special connection.

Time, it steals so much from people, and I’m sorry I did not meet Dorothy earlier in my life. I will never forget her stories nor her words of wisdom. Even as time erased her memories of Kayla, myself, and the office on Logan.

Whatever comes after this life, I pray she is somehow reunited with her Joe. And I hope they get to finish out that trial marriage and move on to the eternal one. Whether it is in some afterlife or in a new system of things.

Thank you for everything Dorothy, you always believed in me and reminded me of my strength when I was going through some of the toughest times in my professional career.
I will always remember you fondly.

Some days I feel like I spend more time referring clients and potential clients to other providers.

One of the great things about putting on the health expo the past two years is learning the options we have here in Cheyenne.

Recognizing when a person calls in experiencing great distress, or suffering with something that I know another provider can address with much more experience and education that I can offer, and knowing who to send them to has been a huge blessing.

I’m grateful for all the providers that I have met along the way. We have an amazing network here and I thank you all for taking such good care of the people in Cheyenne.

Sitting for hours at a time doesn’t just affect your energy, it can seriously disrupt blood sugar control.

A recent study reveals that interrupting prolonged sitting with short bursts of movement can significantly improve glycemic control.

Yesterday's new client commented "I was really surprised there was someone like you in Cheyenne".
It was so refreshing to hear that. When I say I took a lot of crap and jokes about the work I do, and true it isn't the normal massage, it did get discouraging. Then I realized those aren't my clients.
I keep learning and pushing through the stereotypes for the people that need the type of therapy I provide.
I am so happy to be available for these that are searching for results, to provide an option that isn't driving down to Denver.
I am amazed at the people who are coming in, and I was shocked to see November is already fully booked.
That said, if you aren't on the schedule for December, I highly recommend getting scheduled. That month is filling up fast.
