⭐️Meet one of our Medical Assistants/Receptionist - Alhena⭐️
Alhena works in our Laramie Pediatrics office, we asked her some questions for you to get to know her better!
1. What inspired you to become a medical assistant?
I was inspired to become a medical assistant to gain meaningful patient exposure and experiences working as a part of a health care team. I additionally wanted to learn about accessibility issues in health care, and as a medical assistant, I am able to learn in depth directly from the community about their healthcare needs and gaps in the current health care structures. My long-term goal is to help improve access to equitable and quality care, especially in underserved communities.
2. What's one thing patients might be surprised to learn about you?
One thing that patients might be surprised to learn about me is that I was born in Australia!
3. What's your favorite thing about working at Laramie
Pediatrics?
One of my favorite parts of working at Laramie Pediatrics is being able to develop meaningful relationships with patients. Watching a newborn grow and develop with each subsequent visit is remarkable and being able to be a small part of that development is an amazing feeling. When patients come and greet me with a bright smile or give me a hug as I room them, it brightens my day.
4. What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
One of my favorite things to do outside of work is digital art! I love designing different characters and stickers. I also enjoy watching dramas from around the world as it gives me an opportunity to learn different languages and a little bit about different cultures!
5. What is your favorite work snack?
My favorite work snack is fruit like tangerines, strawberries, and mango!
