How do you make a difference in Cheyenne?

The 2026 Budget Session of the Wyoming Legislature convenes on Monday, 9 February at 10:00am. This short session will go by at warp speed.

Knowing how to contact your legislators, committee members or any legislator is key. In this blog post, you will find the link to a presentation (The Stewardship Action Guide) made to a grassroots group in Sheridan that wanted to stop talking and start making that difference. There are guidelines for how to write a brief, effective email or text that will increase the likelihood of it being read. Hint: do NOT sign up for mass emails with a couple pages of text.

In addition, there is a link to an Excel spreadsheet that is a roster of all 93 Legislators that includes their email address and cellphone number to make it easier to contact. As you scroll to the right, the standing committees are listed and you can filter to see which legislators are on which committee.

Finally, a file is linked that lays out the progress of a bill through the steps to become a statute with the deadlines for each. The color coding indicates when amendments are made as well as when in committee which is the only time for public comments.
