Therapist Tip: Reinforcing the Change You’re Working On
Real change in therapy doesn’t usually look dramatic.
It shows up in small moments—pausing before reacting, setting a boundary without over-explaining, or noticing your nervous system settle a little faster than it used to.
When you slow down and name those moments, your brain starts paying attention. You’re teaching your nervous system what safety, growth, and healing actually feel like.
That’s how the brain learns.
That’s how change becomes lasting.
The more you notice what’s different, the more your mind and body work together to support it.
Repetition + Attention + Intention = Lasting Change
If you’re in therapy, take a moment today to name one small shift.
That’s progress.
