Trying to conceive after loss or repeated disappointment can feel isolating and exhausting. 💕

Acupuncture offers gentle, restorative support by calming the nervous system, improving circulation to the reproductive organs, and supporting hormone balance during a sensitive time.

Healing is not just physical. Emotional recovery matters too, and feeling supported can make a meaningful difference in how your body responds.

Hope can return, and you do not have to navigate this journey alone.

Cycle Sync Saturday ✨ each phase of your cycle asks for something different. Make your cycle your superpower.

Symptoms like cramps, mood changes, and fatigue are signals from your body — not something to simply push through. Understanding these signals is key to supporting hormone balance and overall well-being.

In Chinese medicine, we view the menstrual cycle as a dynamic rhythm. When care, food, movement, and rest align with each phase, the body functions more smoothly.

Simple ways to work with your cycle include:
• Choosing warming, nourishing foods during your period
• Using gentle warming herbs like ginger and cinnamon
• Adjusting workouts to match natural energy levels

Instead of fighting your cycle, you can use it as a guide — supporting steadier hormones, better energy, and a deeper sense of balance.

Midweek medicine ✨ apparently we’re all “becoming Chinese” now — and honestly, I kind of love it.

If you’ve seen the trend, it’s all about embracing warmth, rest, and simple seasonal habits rooted in Chinese medicine.

What makes me smile is that these are the same things I’ve been gently encouraging my patients to do for the last 14 years as a TCM practitioner — not because it’s trendy, but because it works.

In winter, Chinese medicine teaches us to:
• keep the feet warm
• protect the neck from wind and cold
• choose warm drinks over iced
• eat warm, cooked foods like soups and stews
• prioritize sleep and rest

None of this is extreme or restrictive.
It’s practical, seasonal wisdom that supports digestion, energy, and immunity.

So if this trend is your permission slip to finally wear the socks, sip the tea, choose the soup, and go to bed earlier — welcome. You’re doing it right. 🤍

Sometimes it takes a viral trend to make ancient wisdom feel cool again —and I’m here for it ☺️

✨ Save this for later

Knee pain can quietly limit daily life — from walking and stairs to work, exercise, and time with family.

At Southside Acupuncture & Herbs, we often treat knee pain using a combination of acupuncture and moxibustion, a traditional Chinese medicine technique that uses gentle warmth to support circulation and healing.

Moxibustion is especially helpful for chronic knee pain, arthritis, stiffness, and pain that worsens in cold or damp weather. Together, acupuncture and moxa help reduce inflammation, improve blood flow, and support the muscles and connective tissues around the joint.

We commonly see knee pain related to:
• Arthritis and inflammation
• Meniscus or ligament injuries
• Runner’s knee and IT band issues
• Post-surgical pain and stiffness
• General wear and tear

In Chinese medicine, the knees are closely connected to the Kidney system, which supports long-term strength, stability, and joint health.

You don’t have to live around knee pain.
Supportive care can help restore movement and comfort.

At Southside Acupuncture + Herbs, functional medicine takes a personalized, science-based approach to understanding your health — while honoring the interconnected view of the body found in Chinese medicine.

Rather than focusing on symptoms alone, we look at the full context: lifestyle, environment, genetics, health history, and how your body’s systems are communicating with one another.

Through detailed assessments, targeted functional testing, and collaborative health coaching, you receive a customized plan designed to support long-term balance, improved vitality, and sustainable healing.

If you’re looking for care that considers the whole picture and provides clear, informed steps forward, functional medicine offers a grounded and empowering path.

Quitting smoking is more than a mental decision — it’s a physiological transition.

Ni****ne impacts the nervous system, stress response, circulation, and breathing patterns. When you stop, your body needs time and support to recalibrate.

In this post, we’re sharing 4 tangible tools that can help support the quitting process in a realistic, non-judgmental way:
✔ acupuncture
✔ herbal support
✔ daily tools for cravings
✔ hydration

Support doesn’t have to be extreme or all-or-nothing.
Even small, consistent steps can make the process more manageable.

If you’re interested in a structured, acupuncture-based approach to smoking cessation, we offer a 4-week Nervous System Reset Program designed to support cravings, withdrawal, and stress.

You wake up tired.
You push through the day on fumes.
And by evening, you’re either wired… or completely depleted.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone — and it’s not a personal failure.

This is what burnout can look like in the body when the stress response has been “on” for too long. Over time, the nervous system and energy reserves struggle to keep up, leaving you feeling exhausted no matter how much you rest.

Common signs include:
• Trouble waking up, even after a full night’s sleep
• Afternoon crashes and reliance on caffeine
• Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
• Cravings for salt or sugar
• Low libido
• Feeling run down after stress or illness

In Chinese medicine, this pattern is often associated with depleted Kidney energy — the deep reserves that support resilience, recovery, and vitality.

Winter is the season to restore these reserves, making it an ideal time to begin rebuilding before spring places new demands on the body.

You don’t have to wait until you’re completely burnt out to seek support.
Care can be gentle, restorative, and effective.

When stress builds up, the body often carries it quietly.
Tight shoulders. Shallow breathing. Restless nights. A nervous system that never fully powers down.

Acupuncture creates space for the body to release what it has been holding onto. As the nervous system settles, tension can soften and a sense of lightness may return — both physically and mentally.

You don’t have to push through burnout to prove resilience.
Support doesn’t have to be forceful to be effective.
Support can feel gentle.
