Happy Holidays from Clarendale! 🎄✨
This season has been filled with joy, creativity, and cherished traditions. One of our favorite highlights was the resident holiday photo shoot, where friends and family joined together to capture the perfect holiday card photo! We’ve also been busy crafting—residents designed and built a festive Christmas village displayed near our lounge, painted ceramic gingerbread bookends and holiday mugs, and created beautiful holiday door wreaths to spread cheer throughout our community. It’s been a wonderful month of memories, creativity, and holiday spirit!

Clarendale is pleased to announce the successful launch of its resident choir, a brand new club that has taken the community by storm! Led by team member Marian, this program has rapidly taken shape over the past few weeks! The choir's practices have showcased remarkable enthusiasm and dedication, culminating in their inaugural holiday concert! The event drew a large audience of family members and residents alike, who enjoyed a delightful program of carols. Notably, the Clarendale grandkids made a special guest appearance, adding to the festive atmosphere! The concert's success has generated excitement for future performances, making it a fitting tribute to the holiday season! 🎄

This December, we are incredibly grateful for the wonderful groups that visited our community and shared their time, talents, and holiday spirit with our residents.

Kenwood School of Ballet delighted us with an engaging and enchanting dance performance that truly captured the magic of the season!

Horizon Science Academy joined our residents in creating tie blankets for the meaningful cause, Project Linus, and also treated us to a festive holiday band performance that filled our community with seasonal cheer!

Lane Tech Students brought the creativity as they spent time building gingerbread houses alongside our residents creating memories and laughter through this interactive program!

Girl Scout troops wrapped up the celebrations by filling our halls with joyful holiday caroling, spreading warmth, and smiles around our community!

We are so thankful for each of these groups and the joy they brought to our residents with their kindness and generosity. ✨

Cookies, classics, and lots of dancing! 🍪🎄
Residents put their baking skills to the test in a holiday cookie contest (choosing a favorite was nearly impossible !)
We also brought the movie projector indoors for a cozy screening of the classic, “A Charlie Brown Christmas”, creating the perfect winter movie atmosphere. Adding to the fun, residents participated in a Secret Santa gift exchange, spreading smiles, surprises, and thoughtful holiday spirit! Throughout the month our happy hours have kept the energy high with laughter, music, and dancing the afternoon away! Our community has truly been a buzz all December!

Happy Hanukkah from Clarendale! 🕎

This week, our residents are participating in Hanukkah celebrations through various meaningful programs. On Sunday, volunteers from the Chicago Mitzvah Campaign joined us to discuss the history and traditions of this holiday. Residents gained a deeper understanding of the menorah lighting ceremony and enjoyed traditional cookies. Later in the week, residents expressed their creativity by painting dreidels and participated in a hands-on cooking demonstration, learning to prepare warm matzo ball soup. We are thankful for these moments of joy, learning, and community that make the holiday season truly special.

The holidays at Clarendale are filled with meaningful moments and joyful connections! Residents gathered for a festive holiday tea party, enjoyed a beautiful piano and guitar performance by one of our talented residents and her son, and bundled up for a seasonal outing to the Kris Kringle Market at Wrigley, with a cozy breakfast stop before braving the cold! The celebrations continued aboard the Clarendale Holiday Express—our decorated bus ride through festive light show! A December full of music and memories!🎄🫖🚌
