Today, we honor World AIDS Day.
And we do it by lifting up the stories, the battles, the brilliance, and the resilience of our city.

For 45 years, Chicago has fought, organized, created family, buried loved ones, saved lives, and imagined a world where HIV does not shape our futures. Today, we stand in that lineage — and we continue the work in our way, our voice, our movement.

🎥 This is the trailer for “45 Years of HIV/AIDS in Chicago” — a project created last year along with the Chicago Department of Public Health, to honor the people, places, and community wisdom that brought us from crisis to possibility.

As so many organizations are lifting their voices today, this is ours:
A reminder that the story isn’t over — and we’re committed to moving our community toward Zero Stigma, Zero Shame, and Zero Barriers to Care.

Black. Gay. Whole. Worthy. Well.

This is what care looks like when it’s built with us, not just for us.

🎥 In this moment from ChiWellness TV, we hear how being under one roof isn’t just about a building—it’s about belonging. Because when the environment feels safe, affirming, and real… care becomes possible.

This isn’t just a moment.
This is the movement.
🟡 Mind. Body. Soul.
🟡 Zero shame. Zero stigma. Zero barriers.
🟡 A culture of care for us, by us.

🔁 Reflect. Repost. Reconnect.

“You don’t have to stay in the place that was meant to bury you.” 💫

In this powerful moment from This Way to Zero – Chapter 3: Spirituality, Rev. Jyrekis Collins reminds us that healing begins the moment we decide we’re done surviving and ready to live again.

💬 “The good news is: I don’t have to live where I was left to die. What tried to kill me couldn’t.”

This is what liberation sounds like.

She mothered a movement.

From Stonewall to Chicago’s South Side, Miss Major Griffin-Gracy taught us that healing is holy, and that community care is how we survive. Her spirit is still organizing — through us.
