Sometimes I sit on the bench where clients enter and take off their shoes. I look into my studio and pause. And for a moment I’m not rushing from this to that, and really appreciating what I’ve built and what I get to do every day. It’s easy to forget!

Coming to work isn’t just a job I do, but it helps guide my life and gives me purpose. Especially when I’m feeling ungrounded, doubtful, worried and so on.

Focusing my mind on helping others has been a beneficial way to exist in this world. It’s not always the easiest navigating a “business” alone, but most of the other alternatives aren’t enticing.

Or not to do

That is the question.

Refraining from doing “a thing” aka conscious inaction, can be equal to or greater than taking an action and doing “a thing.”

Choosing not do something helps make space for doing the new thing/goal/discipline in the future.

Sometimes we need to mindfully take things out before adding more to our plate. And this is also building discipline.
