Posted • Raise your hand if a therapist has ever told you to "just set boundaries with your parents" ✋🏽... but you knew that wasn't exactly an option without creating a family crisis. 😅

This moment from 's latest special on hit way too close to home for many of us. It perfectly captures the frustration of trying to explain deeply rooted cultural values—like the importance of family, collectivism, and honoring your parents, to someone who might not fully understand.

That’s why culturally responsive care is so important. Working with a therapist who gets your background means you don’t have to start from square one every session or explain why “no contact” might not be the right move for your situation. Instead, they meet you where you are and help you navigate solutions that work within your cultural context.
