Today, I want to share a little more about who I am and what continues to shape my work.
So grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and relax while I tell you a little story and share a video connected to one of my latest purposes: defining and building community.
As a creative professional, I feel incredibly fortunate to have built a career rooted in my passions for art, design, history, and psychology. My journey has taken me through corporate, agency, nonprofit, and freelance spaces, where I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with small and large teams, lead projects of all sizes, and continue growing as both a strategist and creative leader.
One of the most meaningful parts of that journey has been finding my path in mental health advocacy.
Breaking generational cycles of trauma within myself, my family, and my culture is deeply connected to my life’s purpose. It has also shaped how I see my work, not just as design and communication, but as a way to help create awareness, connection, and safe spaces for others.
About a year ago, I had the opportunity to become involved with Salud Chicago, a nonprofit creating conversations and community around mental health. More recently, I created a promotional video for Juntas, Salud’s women’s group, centered around the question: What is community to you?
That project gave me space to reflect on how I define community and why building it has become one of my latest passions.
Take a look at how I define community.
And if you read this far down... I'm open to hearing your thoughts about what community means to you.
ENJOY! ✌
