Advances in treatment options can expand care for patients living with complex conditions, and at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, CA, a member of CommonSpirit Health, the care team recently performed the hospital’s first procedure using Neuroimmune Modulation, an FDA approved therapy for rheumatoid arthritis. The procedure was led by Dr. Oni-Orisan and the surgical team as part of introducing this emerging treatment approach to the region.
Rheumatoid arthritis affects nearly 1.5 million Americans, and this new option offers another pathway for patients who may benefit from innovative approaches to managing autoimmune disease.
We appreciate the St. John’s team and their continued commitment to advancing care for the communities we serve.

Every pregnancy journey is different, and not everyone has the same experience. In the U.S., maternal mortality rates are higher for Black, Indigenous and rural mothers, highlighting gaps in care that call for continued attention and action.

During Black Maternal Health Week, this is an important reminder of the need for safe, respectful and equitable care for every mother. Through personalized, whole person care, our obstetricians and certified nurse midwives focus on listening, understanding and supporting families at every stage of pregnancy, labor and postpartum.

This , we reflect on what it means to build a healthier future for all. Health care is more than medicine. It’s supporting the whole person, meeting people where they are, and recognizing that connection, well-being, and access all matter.

“I want you to know that you matter.” This Doctors’ Day, we celebrate the physicians who make that message real through dedication, excellence and humankindness.

“I want you to know that your concerns are not a burden.” Doctors create space for patients to feel supported, encouraged, and more confident in their care, often welcoming the people who matter most into those conversations. This Doctors’ Day, we thank all doctors who help patients feel heard and supported.

CommonSpirit Health: A Career With Purpose

Our Mission

As CommonSpirit Health, we make the healing presence of God known in our world by improving the health of the people we serve, especially those who are vulnerable, while we advance social justice for all.

Company Overview

In early 2019, Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health united as one health care provider—CommonSpirit Health. We combined our resources to further support our dedication to building strong communities, advocating for those in need, and innovating healing.
