While our founder, Crystal, travels through the Yucatán, she has been connecting with local artisans and our master gemstone artist, Edgar.
Edgar’s story is a profound reminder of the history held within these stones. He and his family are Maya, originally from the sacred site of Chichén Itzá. Today, as the “Maya Train” project and large corporations expand, many Indigenous families are being displaced from their ancestral lands for the sake of tourism and profit at one of the world’s most famous archaeological wonders.
At Verde, we believe that true wellness cannot exist without justice and community support. We are committed to:
