The right and left hemispheres of the brain have different controls. When evaluating left versus right hemisphere damages you will often see changes to the following areas:

Injuries on the left side of the brain can cause:
-Difficulty understanding spoken & written language
-Difficulty expressing spoken & written language
-Changes in speech
-Verbal memory issues
-Impaired logic
-Sequencing difficulties

Injuries on the right side of the brain can cause:
-Impairments in attention and organization
-Left neglect
-Memory issues
-Decreased awareness of deficits
-Loss of “big picture” thinking/reasoning
-Altered creative or music perception
-Changes in speech

It is hard to believe that we began CCP one year ago! A small idea over margaritas turned into a full-time career change that has filled us with so much joy!

We are very thankful for all the support of our friends and family, community, and referral sources. You helped us turn our plan into action, and we are grateful daily that we get to service the Chicagoland city and suburbs for immediate, in-home care.

Providing individualized speech, language, voice, cognitive, and swallowing therapy is our passion and purpose. Thank you for supporting and trusting in us!
