Good morning everyone - What are your Memorial Day plans?

JOIN US AT UNION RIDGE CEMETERY - Monday, May 25th at 1p. Be early, dress appropriately for any weather, and, bring a lawn chair.

You will hear and feel a blast from a genuine Civil War cannon. The Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War and Battery L will fire a salvo in an impressive display of smoke and fire.

We will honor ALL VETERANS. We have 79 Civil War Veterans and 475 Veterans from every war and conflict since. Guest Speaker. Color Guard. Taps. Meet the cannon and crew in Civil War attire.

We will host a History Tour at 2:30p for those who reserve a limited spot. To reserve your spot, call 773.631.0900 with your name. Leave your name, best # and email address. We will add you for the tour and our newsletter for future events.

Veterans, feel welcome to wear any representation of your service. One Veteran from each Branch of service will be asked to present a Memorial Wreath during the service.

Twice a year we add commemorative pavers to our growing Patriot Pavers that surround our flag pole.

Be sure to join us Memorial Day Monday, May 25th at 1p as we honor those that have served and sacrificed for freedoms. We have our guest speaker, live taps and a salvo of cannon fire.

SPRING! Welcome from Union Ridge Cemetery!

Save the date -
Memorial Day Event, Monday May 25th at 1pm. SUVCW will be here with Battery L and will be firing a salvo from their Civil War Cannon.

We still have a few open spots for a free history walk at 2:30 following our event. Respond with your name, phone number and email address and we can add you to the list of private invitees.

URC is the oldest operational cemetery in Cook County and played a part in the development of Norwood Park. We have a number of family names you’ll recognize. Smith, Pennoyer, Dunning, Talcott, Kimbell, Pabst, Seymour, Dunlap, Hemingway and Dawson.
