Because of you, families have found community, communication, and connection.

Baxter is a bright, curious 4-year-old with mild to moderate hearing loss due to complications at birth. Like many families, his parents faced uncertainty and fear in the early days of his diagnosis. But everything changed when they found the Chicago Hearing Society.

“I cried the first time I spoke to CHS,” his mom shared. “It was the first time someone truly understood what I wanted for my child and why.”

Through your generosity, CHS was there with advocacy, resources, and a Deaf Mentor who transformed Baxter’s world. His mom calls working with Quinn, their Deaf Mentor, “a game changer.” Baxter now lights up with confidence, and his ability to express himself continues to grow.

Because of you, stories like Baxter’s are happening every single day.

Just this year, your support made it possible for CHS to:
•Provide technology and training to 138 DeafBlind individuals
•Deliver information, case management, and referrals to 724 clients
•Serve 2,074 patients through our Medicaid-supported audiology clinic
•Educate 2,191 seniors on hearing loss and prevention
•Mentor 1,725 Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing children across Illinois

As we continue expanding CHS’s programs—including communication access, assistive technologies, and vital support services for people who are Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing—we invite you to make a gift today.

With your help, CHS ensures that people across every stage of life—from early childhood through older adulthood—can access the tools, resources, and community they deserve to live fully and independently.

🌟 Meet Baxter 🌟
Baxter is a bright, curious 4-year-old with mild to moderate hearing loss. When his family connected with the Chicago Hearing Society (a division of Anixter Center), everything changed. Through advocacy, sign language classes, and a Deaf Mentor, Baxter gained the tools to thrive—and his parents found a supportive community that truly understood their journey.
