Because of you, families have found community, communication, and connection.

Baxter is a bright, curious 4-year-old with mild to moderate hearing loss due to complications at birth. Like many families, his parents faced uncertainty and fear in the early days of his diagnosis. But everything changed when they found the Chicago Hearing Society.

“I cried the first time I spoke to CHS,” his mom shared. “It was the first time someone truly understood what I wanted for my child and why.”

Through your generosity, CHS was there with advocacy, resources, and a Deaf Mentor who transformed Baxter’s world. His mom calls working with Quinn, their Deaf Mentor, “a game changer.” Baxter now lights up with confidence, and his ability to express himself continues to grow.

Because of you, stories like Baxter’s are happening every single day.

Just this year, your support made it possible for CHS to:
•Provide technology and training to 138 DeafBlind individuals
•Deliver information, case management, and referrals to 724 clients
•Serve 2,074 patients through our Medicaid-supported audiology clinic
•Educate 2,191 seniors on hearing loss and prevention
•Mentor 1,725 Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing children across Illinois

As we continue expanding CHS’s programs—including communication access, assistive technologies, and vital support services for people who are Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing—we invite you to make a gift today.

With your help, CHS ensures that people across every stage of life—from early childhood through older adulthood—can access the tools, resources, and community they deserve to live fully and independently.

It's Giving Tuesday!

✨ Meet Silas ✨
At just six months old, Silas lost his hearing after a battle with bacterial meningitis. His parents described those first days as filled with grief and uncertainty—until they found Chicago Hearing Society (CHS).
“When Silas lost his hearing, we grieved. We mourned the life path we thought he was on. But the truth is, it was just the beginning. Thanks to CHS, Silas is playful, gregarious, and confident.” — John, Silas’s dad

Through ASL classes, the Deaf Mentor program, and family events, Silas has found a joyful community where his Deafness is not only supported, but celebrated.

This Giving Tuesday, your gift helps children like Silas grow up surrounded by connection, confidence, and belonging.
