The glory days of sunny autumn skies and colorful trees proudly displaying their foliage are behind us and Chicago is entering its long fall and winter seasons. I want to gently remind everyone that there is beauty in absolutely everything, even in these thick overcast skies. True autumn lovers like myself can appreciate the goodness that comes with gray clouds, leaf- laden puddles, and even in those chilling gusts of wind that Chicago is so known for. Mother nature is turning and we better turn with it! Fall is for nesting, for preparing our summer harvests to get us through the winter, for canning, and most importantly: for resting. I love this book because it reminds us that even when the Instagrammable chic side of autumn is over, we can continue to appreciate the beauty that comes with dark skies cozy fires. The trees are now resting and so should we 🫶🏼
