Fellow IL mental health professionals or humans alike. This is an important bill in the IL Senate that really could help those providing services and being paid fairly and consistently from insurances. Please consider taking action or calling senators saying you support HB1085.

This bill would help fix our broken mental health system by making sure insurance companies pay providers fairly. Too many are paying out of pocket while therapists leave insurance networks. That’s wrong—and fixable. ✍️ Take 2 minutes to email your senator: https://bit.ly/ilhb1085 ...

Happy 2025! 🎉✨🤗

2024 I embarked on a new professional journey and continued my personal growth towards healing in a world that demonizes my humanity and of so many people.

I am grateful for life and all the highs and lows we experience in a lifetime. I have learned the importance of slowing down, resting, and living life through love and community. 🌈

I hope to continue this evolution in 2025.

I want to extend the same energy to you and your loved ones. Thank you for existing and continuing leading with light and love for yourself this year! 🫶

We are entering the last full week before the election and I am scared. I am scared of the similarities of 2016 election along with the continued threat against my life, freedoms, and privileges I have as an American.

My therapist and I discussed the importance of safety, trust, and spirituality (sense of something greater than yourself). We mutually plan on extending this space to ourselves and others by creating such space everyday through Election Day.

One way is have found helpful is through therapeutic movement and chanting a Buddhist mantra: Om Mani Padme Hum for love and compassion.

Find a modality that works for you and take 5-10 minutes each day to offer your self and send the energy out to others during this time.

I believe in the power of the human collective and the greater good. Our political system is flawed and so are the people in it. I vote in hopes for something better now and my future which will not come if we have another Trump presidency.

Pride celebrations, as we know it, started a year after the Stonewall uprising in 1969. This was thanks to the loud advocacy of Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P Johnson.

Collectively liberation is needed and necessary. With oppressive systems, there will always be the dynamic of oppressors and the oppressed. Collection liberation means everyone (oppressors and the oppressed) is FREE. Without this none of us are free.

Q***r and Trans* lives are under attack, with no end in sight. There is no pride in these systems. There is no pride in genocide.

I plan to continue to be loud in this fight. How about you?

Free Palestine
Free Congo
Free Sudan
Free Haiti
Free the oppressed
Free all the people

Happy Pride Month Everyone! ✨🌈💕

This whole month I will be posting pride content. The purpose of this month and my posts celebrate the history, culture, present day of 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Celebrating community this month and every month makes space for collective care and support.

As q***r gender nonconforming human, I am proud of who I am. I also have to honor my privilege of getting to be out and proud. There are many who came before me to fight for that right AND there are many who still struggle to get to be celebrating being authentically themselves due to many in factors.

Even if you are not part of the community you can be an ally, during the month and beyond, through demonstrating support and solidarity through your words and actions.

Happy Pride Celebrations! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Happy Mental Health Awareness Week/Month! I want to thank everyone for your patience and not hearing from me recently.

It has been an incredible transition into my own practice and like every transition I have needed time to learn new things, confront challenges, and prioritize rest & relaxation.

Life is full of transitions! Some are small daily transitions from thing to thing and they can be big like changing jobs or moving. How do you care for yourself during transitions? How do you talk to yourself when transitions bring on challenges or don’t meet your expectations?

I am hoping to start regularly posting and creating wonderful tools and resources to share with you all soon. Get excited for what’s to come!

In the meantime, enjoy being alive and these photos of me doing the same with celebrating the privilege of another year of life and my very cute and therapeutic fur children because that along with outdoor time has been helpful in my last month of transition. ✨💕🌈🐾

Today is Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV).

On this day and everyday we need to celebrate trans*, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people for the rich tapestry their magnificent existence brings to this world.

Being fully embodied as your authentic self is empowering and deserving for all humans.

Unfortunately, in the US and parts of the world viability means violence and hate. The loss of rights and humanity. Which means the importance of liberation over visibility is so essential as in the US alone there are over 400+ taking away rights to exist, let alone receive basic and affirmative healthcare. There is constant news of the devastating effects this brings such as assaults and death.

Let’s lean into embracing love and joy through very LOUD and POWERFUL support of Trans*/GNC people of all ages and backgrounds. Be relentless for them through advocacy, electing q***r and trans affirming politicians, call and write letters against anti-trans policies, donate your time and money.

Love is an action and I want my trans/gnc siblings to feel loved today and everyday by my actions because our light and existence is not going anywhere! 💕✨🏳️‍⚧️

“When we sow a seed, we are plant a narrative of future possibility.” - Sue Stuart-Smith

Garden connects us to the earth and the food that provides nourishment to our bodies. Lately our household has been going in on garden prep and seeing how we can constantly grow in the Midwest with winter. The embodiment I have felt playing in the dirt and see new growth is inspiring.

Reminds me the privilege of being a therapist and the change and new growth that comes from that relationship for myself and my clients.

This image (logo) highlights all change is beautiful even though it can be challenging. All growth looks different and sometimes plants will die to make way for new growth.
