Happy Wednesday!!
Avoidance is a common coping strategy.
It can look like distraction, staying busy, minimizing your feelings, or telling yourself something “shouldn’t bother you.”
In the short term, avoidance reduces discomfort.
But when emotions aren’t processed, they usually return in other ways — irritability, tension, anxiety, or feeling overwhelmed without a clear reason.
Emotions move through the nervous system when they’re acknowledged and processed.
Ignoring them may delay the discomfort, but it rarely resolves it.
Learning how to sit with and process emotions is a skill that can be developed over time.
