Have you heard the term "Anger is a secondary emotion?" Often in relationships we feel angry or irritated but anger works hard to protect us from other emotions. More vulnerable emotions. Feelings of hurt, sadness, loneliness, rejection. When we can dig down to those deeper emotions, we are better able to express ourselves and invite meaningful authenticity into our relationships.

If you struggle with figuring out the "right" decision is to a problem, consider instead what values are important to you. Then ask yourself how you can best enact your values in this case. You don't have to have the perfect solution...it's enough to enact your values.

Come geek out with Chicago Nerd Therapy with a Guided Mental Health Geeky Meditation. I know that the holidays are stressful, so every Wednesday in November I’ll be leading free 30 minute “mental health tune ups.” Come practice a little self care, find new nerdy ways to destress, and give yourself a breather.

For our first meditation, participants will be guided through 20 minutes of creating a personalized and meaningful safe mental space with nerdy iconography and geeky visioning prompts. We'll have 10 minutes for discussion afterwards, if anyone feels like sharing.

Need to carve out some alone time on the Death Star, away from the stress? No problem. Want to cool your heels in a private sietch on Dune, protected by an army of Sandworms? No prob...spice must flow, my dude. How about a fortress guarded by Captain America riding a dragon? I got you. Come kick back, let your mind relax, and find a retreat from the insanity of the holidays.
