I am constantly talking about attachment styles in my work as a therapist so I was super excited to be able to provide a few quotes to the folks over at Shondaland about just that! :)

A conversation I have a lot with folks is about how to set healthy boundaries in relationships. This might be about setting healthy boundaries with friends, at work, in intimate relationships (and the doozy of all places to set boundaries) with family. Check out my blog post on setting healthy boundaries and Nedra Glover Tawwab’s new book “Set Boundaries, Find Peace: Reclaiming Yourself”. 🙂

I often find myself talking to folks in therapy about setting healthy boundaries in relationships. This might be about setting new boundaries with friends, at work, in intimate relationships, and (the doozy of all places to set boundaries) with family. People ask, "How do I set a healthy bounda

I've started a new monthly blog post (potential newsletter?) roundup to briefly talk about all the resources I've been consuming & suggesting to folks throughout the month tailored to BIPOC & LGBTQ+ communities. Some of my recommendations might be Apps & Websites like the ones I’m linking down below while others may be movies or art exhibitions or cat videos. I don’t know. “When I say decolonizing, I want to question and interrogate the ways that these larger forces and institutions have told us what counts as mental health and what counts as suffering,” says Khúc. “In order to interrogate that, I have to draw on community and think about the kinds of knowledge that come out of our own communities around what suffering is.”

"Beginning to see yourself from a strengths-based perspective is part of the process toward healing. Shifting your view of trauma as an injury shifts the perspective/belief away from “sickness” to “impact” and moves the conversation away from “what is wrong with you” to “what has happened to you”.

There is a tendency to see themselves as inherently weak due to their experiences. Beginning to see yourself...
