Alcohol & Accutane 👇

Mixing alcohol with Accutane is not recommended for a few main reasons:

1. Your liver has to work overtime to break both down which can elevate liver enzyme levels & lead to liver damage

2. Your triglyceride levels can rise too much and increase your risk of pancreatitis

3. Alcohol is dehydrating and accutane most commonly causes mucocataneous side effects

4. Both can effect your mental health negatively

It’s a temporary side effect that might affect some women while they take Accutane!

The mucocataneous side effects (aka the dryness) can affect some women in more places than just their face

It’s not a guarantee but it is something that’s been seen in some while taking the protocol.

Two helpful tips when handling these side effects are:

1. Take your pill with a fatty meal. Even just a spoonful of peanut butter or half an avocado will do!

2. Supplement omega 3 while taking your protocol as studies have shown this to help offset some dryness!

The infamous Accutane nose job 👃👀

so what’s really happening?

Well, the way Accutane works is it targets your oil glands to dry them up and shrink your pores 🤝

A caveat to that is that our nose is surrounded with pores so if you are somebody with very large, porous skin then you may see some shrinkage in your nose as the medication works to dry up your skin!

It’s not something that will happen in everybody so it’s important to manage your expectations if you think this is a way to have a surgery free nose job 🙅‍♀️
