My toddler group had so much fun with our 🐶 pets🐱 theme this week! Using the Critter Clinic (one of the best toys!), we worked on requesting "open," using a key, and making the sounds of the animals we found!
Tip: when playing with animal toys or reading about animals, model the sound they make ("Doggie says woof woof!") instead of asking what sound it makes.
👉 Take the pressure off your little one by reducing questions and quizzing, and playfully modeling instead. If you want to assess what they know, say, "Doggie says..." and leave a 5-second pause to see if they fill it in. If not, put on your silly "woof woof woof!" and move on. 😊
