In this position you will work as an integral part of our team. This position will work at both our Arlington Heights and Chicago office. The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

Job Responsibilities:

· Greeting and rooming patients
· Taking patient x-rays
· Smoothing and filing
· Documenting patient history into EMR
· Assisting provider with patient exams, preparing exam rooms for specific procedures
· Preparing patient charts, etc. prior to patients visit
· Fitting, patient education and dispensing of Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
· Obtaining patient consent for in-office procedures
· Maintaining exam rooms by cleaning and stocking rooms as necessary
· Preparing non-disposable instruments for sterilization
· Scheduling of outpatient procedures at the local Surgical Center or Hospital
· Organizing and maintaining our Diabetic Shoe Program
· Scheduling patient appointments
· Answering the phones
· Collecting patient copays and balances when appropriate
· Triaging and responding to patient calls
· Gathering and managing necessary documents (i.e., medical records, test results)
· Completing other duties as assigned by the Physician and/ or Practice Manger

Qualifications:

· High School diploma or equivalent
· Certified Medical Assistant CMA or
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant CCMA
· Past Medical Assistant experience (podiatry experience)
· Knowledge of medical terminology
· Dependable and punctual
· Customer service oriented
· Detail oriented
· Basic computer skills

This position will work 2 days at our Arlington Heights office and 3 days at our Chicago office and 1 Saturday a month in Chicago. The offices are located at 8 N Dunton Ave, Arlington Heights, IL and 6560 W Higgins Ave, Chicago, IL 60656. Training will be done in the Arlington Heights office for 2-3 weeks.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare exam rooms and patients for exam
- Greet patients and obtain medical history and update medical record
- Sterilize instruments properly
Assist physician as needed with patient care.
- Smoothing/grinding of patient nails
- Take and develop quality X-rays.
- Dispensing of DME equipment
- Maintain room supplies
- Perform front desk responsibilities such as answering phones, scheduling appointments and collecting patient payments

Experience:
1 year of Medical Assisting experience preferred

Previous experience working in a Podiatry office preferred

Education:

High School Diploma

Medical Assistant or certified nursing assistant certification preferred.

Hours for this position (willing to work with your schedule if needed):

Monday: 9:00am-2:00pm

Tuesday: 11:30am-7:30pm

Wednesday: 9:30am-3:30pm

Thursday: 9:30am-2:30pm

Friday: 7:30am-1:30pm

Saturday: 7:30am-12:30pm (1 Saturday a month)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour
