Children's Research Triangle

Children's Research Triangle CRT provides children and teens with exceptional behavioral health services and Camp SOAR. Our work with children and families has many facets.

We offer Evaluation and Treatment for a variety of developmental, educational, emotional, and behavioral concerns. We assist parents in the process of making decisions regarding adoption, we host support groups to bring people together to share successes and challenges, and we provide a Speakers Bureau to share our expertise among parents and professionals. Our Research Department allows us to expand evidence-based treatment and ensure that our work is informed by the most up-to-date information. As a result, our clinical programs are recognized as national models for successful interventions. In addition, since 2000, Camp SOAR (Special Outdoor Adaptive Recreation) has allowed children with special needs to create lifetime memories at our overnight camps. The work of Children's Research Triangle began in 1976, when a group of volunteers came together to serve families and children who faced an array of challenges. In 1998, CRT was incorporated as a not-for-profit organization as we continued to expand our services. Our vision is for all children, no matter what challenges or disabilities they may face, to have a safe and nurturing childhood and to receive the support necessary to lead happy, fulfilled lives.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, Children's Research Triangle has made significant progress in closing the $400,000 budget gap this year from decreased federal funding opportunities.

With just two weeks left in 2025, we are now only $20,000 away from reaching our goal!

We invite you to help us Bridge the Gap and ensure we end the year strong — without reducing services for the children and youth we support through mental health care and Camp SOAR.

Together we can ensure that not one child loses access to the resources they deserve.

We’re thrilled to announce that Children's Research Triangle received a fourth year of funding from the Bob Woodruff Foundation for our work providing evidence-based mental health services to veteran families. The funding will enable us to continue and expand our services to children of veterans, including our partnership with Evanston Vet Center where a CRT clinician serves children and families onsite.

As a leader in the military and veteran community, the Bob Woodruff Foundation ensures that our nation’s veterans, service members, and their families—those who stood for us—have stable and successful futures. Some important news as we begin our week of giving Thanks…

36 organizations just received word that their programs will receive funding in a new $7.5 MILLION round of grantmaking by our foundation.

Priorities in this round of funding include critical mental health care programs, initiatives targeting brain health, and proven housing efforts. Military relief organizations focused on the financial stability of active-duty service members will receive $2 million in aid as a result of today’s announcement and our partnership with Navy Federal Credit Union. Over $1 million will go to legal aid organizations focused on helping veterans avoid eviction and access benefits they’ve earned as a result of their service to our country.

Today’s grants are expected to support over 21,000 service members, veterans, and their families.

We look forward to spotlighting many of these grants and Got Your 6 Network partner organizations in the weeks to come!
