What is Project Taqwa?

We are a volunteer-led initiative dedicated to addressing the mental health needs of Muslims in a culturally sensitive way. With the support of over 20 mental health professionals, our mission is to reduce stigma, provide resources, and build stronger connections between the community and mental health support.

From community events with MSAs and masajid, to guides, podcasts, and clinical services, Project Taqwa is here to advocate for wellness and open dialogue in the Muslim community.

Ep 13 | How Physical Injury Impacts Our Mental Health

In today’s episode we’re joined by Maryam, a member of our Project Taqwa team, to talk about the connection between physical injury and mental health. Drawing on experiences with sports-related injuries and the challenges they bring to one’s sense of identity, we also explore how injury more broadly can affect daily life, emotions, and overall well-being.

Available to listen through the link in our bio.
