La Rabida Chicago Children’s Diabetes Center (CCDC) is proud to serve our community as the premier pediatric diabetes provider. Our team of specialists work together to create a custom treatment plan for each child, who grows up to have a happy and healthy life.

We are still beaming with pride after being nominated for a Midwest Emmy Award in the Outstanding Achievement for Branded Content category for "The Lion and The Lioness" short film. Michele Wysoglad, VP of Fund Development & External Affairs and Cheyanne Dye, Graphic Designer collaborated with Fig Media to tell Layoni’s resilient journey at La Rabida.

Happy Halloween from La Rabida! We saw the incredible Spiderman, a sweet mouse and her friend, Mickey Mouse, a clever Ravenclaw with fierce purple hair from Hogwarts, and a majestic tiger! What a fun day dressing up and seeing our patients, families, and staff enjoy the festivities together! From outpatient with the spice girls to bringing the pop of color with our crayons to the inpatient unit for the parade – days like this are always a treat!

Our patients had such a blast building this 9ft 6in Lego tower! As participants in the Bricks of Hope tallest tower contest, we put our creativity to the test. Based on the size of our creation – looks like we'll beat out the competition! Our Lego tower came equipped with a slide, diving board, and made by the best architects! 👏 🤩 💛 💙 ⛵ ⚓

With over 100 years of care and service, we are proudly dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of life for children with complex conditions, disabilities and chronic illnesses. We are leaders in delivering the best specialized through advocacy, hands-on education and wrap-around care for children and families.

Our specialties include: Diabetes, sickle cell, cerebral palsy, inpatient transitional care, children with medical technology needs, rehabilitative services (traumatic brain injury, burn rehabilitation and post-surgical care).

We offer innovative services that extend beyond what insurance covers, because we believe every child deserves a healthy start in life regardless of a family’s ability to pay.
