We all carry stories. Let’s talk about them. Trauma doesn’t define us — resilience does. Join us for a powerful evening of real conversation, connection, and healing with licensed trauma therapists from Rush University Medical Center.

Dinner will be served, voices will be heard, and community will be strengthened.

This is more than an event — it’s a safe space.

Community supporting community.

The Good Neighbor Campaign and Chi-Care Chicago are back today providing Grab & Go Free Hot Meals for our neighbors. Last week we saw smiles replace frowns and even a little dancing after a warm meal and good conversation.

Moments like that remind us why we do this work.

Different backgrounds. One community. One purpose.
From mothers and children to seniors and neighbors, yesterday reminded us that food brings people together. One guest even stayed to warm up and left dancing. That’s impact. That’s love. That’s service.

Now, when we talk trailblazers of the ILBC, we would be remiss if we did not talk about the legend that was the Honorable Harold Washington.

Veteran, Former State Representative, Senator, US Congressman and 1st African American Mayor; he served the country bravely and with his elected service on several levels of government: City, State, and Federally he showed us what commitment really looked like.

He was a man for the people, bringing together coalitions all while making sure he supported the community of his origin.

Founding Member of the ILBC in 1967, when the time was right he certainly made you Come Alive and Punch 9!
