Over the past several months, Trilogy has been proud to help plan a legislative briefing on Chicago’s homelessness system, hosted by the Chicago Continuum of Care.

With ongoing threats to federal funding, especially for permanent supportive housing, it’s critical that leaders at every level of government understand what’s at stake and how they can help prevent harm. While advocacy has delayed harmful policy changes, the risks remain very real.

We were honored to stand alongside All Chicago, Housing Action Illinois, Deborah’s Place, The Night Ministry, and advocates who shared their lived experiences. Thank you to the city, county, and state policymakers who engage in this important conversation.

We kicked off Black History Month by coming together with and our clients to celebrate the rich history, resilience, and impact of the Black community. We were honored to raise the Afro-American flag at our Drop-In Centers in Rogers Park and Chatham, creating space for reflection, pride, and unity.

Thank you to the Black Heritage Council and the Community & Culture Council for organizing this meaningful celebration and helping us start Black History Month together!

Brandon spent months without a stable place to call home while working on his mental health recovery — moving from hotels to temporary housing and struggling to find the stability he needed to heal. Brandon needed help to keep moving forward. Then, earlier this month, after weeks of uncertainty, Brandon got the call he'd been waiting for from his Trilogy case manager: “Can you come in to sign the lease?”

That new set of keys changed everything. Now, Brandon feels safe, settled, and able to focus on his recovery journey. “Trilogy helped me tremendously," he said. "They helped me be mentally prepared to have my own place. They never gave up on me when I was at the lowest of the low.” Now, Brandon's working to become a Recovery Support Specialist so he can help others on their own recovery journeys.

As funding cuts challenge our ability to support day‑to‑day essentials, your support of Resources for Independence, Stability, and Empowerment has ensured people like Brandon can access housing, groceries, furniture, and other essentials they need. Supporters like you made this moment possible. YOU helped Brandon RISE. Thank you!

We’re proud to share this important story highlighting research Illinois Justice Project conducted with Loyola University inside the Illinois Department of Corrections, work that underscores the urgent need for stable, safe housing as a cornerstone of successful reentry.

A first-of-its-kind statewide survey shows many reentering society may face difficulty finding housing. Advocates say the data underscores the need for major investment in reentry housing and services.

TRILOGY makes a promise to each person we serve – that we’ll do all we can to help them move forward in their recovery. Food, clothing, and rent are essential to a person's ability to stay on the path of mental health recovery. And all of these essentials cost money.

While TRILOGY has worked to ensure that core services are protected, funding cuts have reduced our ability to help clients pay for the day-to-day expenses they need to stay on the path to recovery. To survive. Last year, grants covered 80% of our clients' needs. This year, just 47%. Next year, only 25%.

But we can’t let TRILOGY clients fall through the cracks just because they fall a few dollars short. Right now, we need your help to keep our promise to our clients. Your tax-deductible donation today will provide Resources for Independence, Stability and Empowerment. Your support will help people like Kassie RISE.

Donate to provide all the things that make all the difference in the world.

Please give today at trilogyinc.org.

Let's hear it for social workers.

They work closely with a community's most marginalized and vulnerable residents. Their expertise plays a key role in ensuring that all of us - our family members, friends, neighbors and ourselves - can access person-centered support services when needed most. Social workers are key community leaders, heading organizations that keep people healthy, shaping policy, and amplifying the voices of the people they serve.

Sharing a photo of three social workers who are shaping our community for a better future: Trilogy President and CEO Susan Doig, LCSW, LPHA, CADC, State Representative Lindsey LaPointe, 19th District, MSW, and State Senator Karina Villa, 25th District, MSW.
