Cook County Health joined officials to talk about upcoming changes to Medicaid enrollment in 2027. While changes aren’t in effect now, it’s important that enrollees keep their information up to date with the state (abe.illinois.gov).

Cook County health officials say they have fielded calls from residents who wrongly think they are no longer eligible or that the program will no longer exist. They stressed that Medicaid remains unchanged until 2027.

This week, Illinois reported its first pediatric death due to the flu. It’s not too late to get vaccinated and help protect yourself and those around you. Dr. Trevor Lewis spoke with ABC 7 Chicago about the flu season.

Illinois officials announced the first influenza death in a child this season. The influenza activity in the state has moved to "very high."
