Let the holiday celebrations begin! ☃️🎁✨ Many thanks to the family of our dedicated board members, Dorothy and Dennis O’Malley, for hosting a wonderful holiday party for a group of our members.

Everyone made reindeer ornaments for the tree, played bingo and received gifts that included hats, gloves, scarves and journals. We’re grateful for our community of supporters! 🫶

Meet our member Maurice, who enjoys giving back to his community, especially those in need around the holidays. Through our horticulture program, he has learned basic gardening principles and meal preparation as well as harvested crops, which are incorporated into member meals and distributed to local families. 🍅🥒🌽

We’re extending many congratulations to Envision Unlimited mental health specialist Angela Russell on receiving the Community Pioneer Award 🏆 at this year’s Democrats of Thornton Township gala, where guests come together to discuss shared values and important issues.

Angela was recognized for her outreach activities to bring mental health and wellness education to Thornton Township through the Envision Unlimited Cultural Faith-Based Empowerment (CFBE) Program. ✨

“Receiving this award means more than I can express,” she said. “It tells me that people heard, saw and believed in the work we’re trying to do. This award represents the growing acknowledgment that our communities truly need accessible health education, support and stigma-free spaces.”

Our CFBE Program equips clergy, faith leaders and congregations with necessary tools, training and resources to support individuals’ emotional and spiritual wellbeing. We work with leaders from diverse religious backgrounds to provide interactive workshops and discussions that explore the intersection of faith, trauma and mental health.

It’s the season of gratitude, and we’re grateful for things like first bike rides. 🚴 Member Lupe from our Rose Center recently went for a spin on one of our new Duet bikes, and her excitement was contagious! 🤩

“It was great to hear her laughter throughout the ride,” said Rose Center Director Raul Barrera, who pedaled from behind.

We’re looking forward to more milestones in 2026 and many more bike rides for Lupe! 👏👏

Envision Unlimited is getting into the holiday spirit! ☃️ This week, members from our Nashville Center visited the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry to see the Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light exhibit, which features more than 50 decorated trees that reflect global holiday traditions. 🎄

Everyone had a great time learning about diverse cultures and celebrations, and they particularly enjoyed the four-story “Grand Tree!” We’re looking forward to more holiday activities! ✨

Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a time to raise awareness about the rights of this community that’s often marginalized.

It’s important to remember that people with disabilities have the same rights as everyone else. We help our members make choices and fully exercise their rights every day, and we hope that others will follow our lead in promoting more choice, independence and inclusion for people with disabilities. 💪

How was your Thanksgiving celebration? 🦃 Ours was filled with delicious food, family, friends and plenty of fantastic memories!

Our Rose Center welcomed 90 people for its annual Friendsgiving gathering, and members Tru, G'Lisha and Ana cooked up a sumptuous meal that included turkey, ham and twice-baked potatoes. To top it off, vegetables for the pumpkin and butternut squash soup were harvested from the Van J. Voorhees Garden at our Frick Center! 🍵🥔🥧

It was a truly great event, and we were thankful to share these moments together. ✨

It’s the most wonderful time of the year to pay it forward, and you can always count on Envision Unlimited to help those in need. Our members and staff recently spent a morning packing meals for hungry children and their families, seniors and veterans in the Chicago area through the Feed6 Hunger Heroes event.

We have participated in this event for the past several years and have proudly packaged more than 1 million meals! Way to go, ! 👏👏

Need last-minute plans tonight? Stop by the Bridgeport Art Center for the opening of the 22nd annual Art on Cardboard Show! Our members William, John and Nikko (pictured) will have artwork on display for the first time, and they’ll be available to meet and chat with guests! 🤩

This is expected to be the biggest show of the year with approximately 100 cardboard works of art on display. We hope to see you there to support our member artists! 🎨
