April is Stress Awareness Month, a reminder to pause and notice how stress is showing up in your life.

Common signs include:
• Racing thoughts or difficulty focusing
• Trouble sleeping or low energy
• Muscle tension or headaches
• Changes in appetite or digestion
• Feeling irritable, anxious, or overwhelmed

Awareness allows you to respond with intention rather than react. Stress is part of life, but how you navigate it can help you stay grounded and in control.

🥗 Nutrition as Fuel, Not Restriction 🥗

In our final week of National Nutrition Month, let’s discuss how we think of nutrition. So many diet strategies involve eliminating certain foods; however, that is usually not sustainable in the long term. If you think about nutrition in terms of fueling your body rather than restriction, it becomes easier to choose a variety of foods that support energy, focus, and overall well-being, so you can feel balanced day-to-day.

Simple ways to approach nutrition with balance:
🥗 Aim for nourishment, not restriction
⏱️ Focus on what you can do consistently
🧠 Notice how foods support your energy and focus

Nutrition is not a one-month practice. These small, supportive choices are meant to carry with you throughout the year, helping you stay grounded, energized, and well-nourished in every season.

I spoke with Real Simple about the often-overlooked benefits of choline, a nutrient that plays a key role in mental health.

Choline helps regulate mood and supports brain cell repair, which can reduce anxiety responses. It also contributes to the production of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for carrying signals between the brain and body, making it essential for overall brain function.

Dietitians say one underrated nutrient may play a bigger role in mood and stress than most people realize. Here’s why it matters for mental health and how to get more of it.

Organizations hire for potential, but without a culture of wellness, employees can only operate at a fraction of their capacity. In this reel, I share why supporting well-being is essential for engagement, performance, and retention. ✨

Some people romanticize the hustle.

I romanticize:
▪️A full water bottle
▪️A 10-minute walk between meetings
▪️Protein at breakfast
▪️A calendar that includes self-care
▪️Going to bed at a reasonable hour

Your energy is an asset. Protect it like one.

Still reflecting on my time at SXSW EDU in Austin, where I had the opportunity to speak on “Not a Liability: Rethinking Mental Health in Leadership.”

One thing is clear: the conversation around mental health in leadership is shifting, but there is still more work to do. Mental health isn’t a personal issue or a professional risk. It’s a key part of how leaders think, perform, and shape their teams and culture.

We talked about burnout, decision-making, and how leaders can create environments that support both well-being and high performance in a sustainable way.

I’m especially grateful for the openness and engagement in the room. It’s encouraging to see leaders across industries ready for a more honest and effective approach.

Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation. If this is something you’re thinking about in your organization, I’d love to continue the dialogue.

🥗 Hydration and Energy 🥗

For this week’s National Nutrition Month, let’s focus on one of the most overlooked and foundational wellness habits: hydration. 💧 Water plays a key role in energy, focus, digestion, and circulation. Staying properly hydrated supports how you feel, how you function, and how you show up every day.

Simple hydration habits to support wellness:
🚰 Sip water consistently throughout the day
☕ Balance caffeine with water intake
🍋 Add lemon or fruit if it helps you drink more

Supporting your body doesn’t have to be complicated. Consistent hydration is a simple, sustainable way to boost energy, clarity, and overall well-being.

Spring cleaning isn’t just about closets and cabinets. It’s about clearing what feels heavy so you can move into the season with more clarity and ease.

Today, for Self-Care Saturday, try an “energy edit”:
▪️Clear one visual clutter zone: Counters, nightstands, or your desktop screen. Visual noise quietly drains mental bandwidth.
▪️Organize what supports your goals: Put what you use often within reach. Make the healthy choice the easy choice.
▪️Open the windows: Fresh air literally shifts your physiology. Light and air change mood faster than motivation does.
▪️Let go of one thing you’re holding onto out of guilt: An item, an obligation, or even an outdated expectation.
▪️Ask yourself: What am I ready to release this season? Sometimes, the most important cleaning is internal.

Spring is a natural reset point. You don’t need a total overhaul. Just one intentional shift that makes your space and your energy feel lighter.
Clear space. Clear mind. Clear direction.
