Family Appreciation 🤍
A big thank you to one of our wonderful families who brought in so many thoughtful goodies to celebrate their daughter’s birthday with our team. This family shared how thankful they are for everyone here, and it truly meant so much to us.
We feel incredibly grateful to work alongside such kind and supportive families. Thank you for letting us be part of your child’s journey!

ABA is often misunderstood.

It is not about compliance.
It is not about forcing behavior.
It is not about changing who a child is.

At its best, ABA is about understanding why behavior happens and supporting children in ways that make daily life feel more manageable and meaningful.

How ABA is practiced matters. The values behind it matter. And families deserve to understand the difference.

🎯 Why Data Fidelity Matters, and How We Train Staff for Accuracy

If you’re in ABA, you know data drives decisions. But the quality of that data? That’s what determines outcomes.

At Silveira Behavior Consultants, we focus on three key pillars:
1️⃣ Clarity: Every program includes operational definitions that are specific, observable, and measurable. That way, any RBT could walk in and know exactly what to record.
2️⃣ Training: We don’t just tell staff what to collect, we show them. Through hands-on modeling, fidelity checks, and IOA reviews, we ensure data stays consistent across sessions and team members.
3️⃣ Feedback: Supervisors review data weekly to spot patterns early and coach in real time, before drift becomes a problem.

Because accurate data isn’t paperwork, it’s how we protect client progress and professional integrity. 💙

January often comes with pressure to reset everything.

New goals. New routines. New expectations.

For many children, especially those on the spectrum, meaningful progress does not start with big changes or strict resolutions. It starts with feeling regulated, supported, and safe.

At Silveira, we begin the year by focusing on regulation first. When nervous systems are supported, learning, growth, and confidence follow more naturally.

This year does not need a reset. It needs support that meets your child where they are.

If you are wondering what a more supportive start to the year could look like, we would love to start a conversation.

🏫 How We Communicate with Schools and Care Teams for Consistent Progress

Progress in ABA doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens through consistency. And that means communication across every setting.

Here’s how our clinicians keep collaboration strong at Silveira Behavior Consultants:
1️⃣ Shared goals: We align treatment plans with IEP objectives and classroom strategies so kids are practicing the same skills everywhere.
2️⃣ Regular updates: Our team sends (progress notes, summary reports, or meeting recaps) to schools and outside providers so everyone knows what’s working.
3️⃣ Respectful partnership: We approach every conversation with curiosity and collaboration because when BCBAs, teachers, and therapists work together, the child wins.

We’re all on the same team: the child’s.

After-school vibe check:
✅ Backpack on the floor
✅ Snacks everywhere
✅ Emotions on level 100

Sound familiar?

You’re not alone if your child holds it together all day and saves the big feelings for home. A few tiny tweaks that can help with school ➝ home transitions:
1️⃣ Same routine, same order (predictability = safety)
2️⃣ Simple visual schedule so your child can see what’s next
3️⃣ Built-in “decompression time” before homework or chores
4️⃣ Big praise for small wins (like hanging up the backpack 👏)

Progress is rarely a straight line—and that’s okay. 💛

Afternoons don’t have to feel like a meltdown waiting to happen. Here are three simple, fun ideas to make that school-to-home switch a little smoother:

1️⃣ Create a “Hello Home” routine
Do the same 3 things every day when they walk in the door.
For example:
- Hang up backpack
- Quick snack
- 5-minute cuddle or silly handshake

Remember, predictable = peaceful (for them and you).

2️⃣ Snack first, questions later 😅
Hungry brains have a hard time using coping skills.
Offer a simple snack and a few minutes of quiet or play before asking about homework, behavior, or their day.

3️⃣ Build in a “decompression activity”
Think: 10–15 minutes of something that helps their body and brain reset.
For example:
- Trampoline / swinging
- Drawing or building with blocks/Legos
- Music + dance party in the kitchen
- Call it your “After-School Power-Up” and let them help choose!

💬 Try this:
Ask your child, “What’s one thing that would make after school easier for you?” and build it into your routine this week.

Which one would help your family the most right now—snack, silence, or silly dance party? 😄👇
