Thirteen years ago, I challenged the system. I saw a gap between rigid academic centers and massive, clunky healthcare systems—a place where patients can have easy access to the world’s best surgeons and high-quality care without all the red tape.

Today, Chicago Institute of Advanced Surgery stands as proof that private practice isn’t just viable— it’s powerful.

On our anniversary, I’d like to thank our employees for the incredible empathy and sympathy treating those in need. I’d also like to acknowledge the incredible talent our surgeons have and their readiness to respond day or night and anytime in between.

Being part of this team has been the absolute, greatest privilege of my life. For over 13 years, we have made healthcare better for thousands of patients—not just from Chicago, but from across the entire state and our great country 🇺🇸

Special thanks to all patients who chose Chicago Institute of Advanced Surgery as their place for healing and comfort 🙌🏼

As a Bariatric Surgeon and board-certified Obesity Medicine Specialist, I’ve always championed an integrated, evidence-driven approach to obesity care. We’ve embraced minimally invasive procedures, progressing from open surgery to minimally invasive and robotic solutions.

Simultaneously and at their early phase, the Chicago Institute of Advanced Surgery integrated the evolution of GLP-1 medications—from daily injections to weekly, and now exploring oral options. But innovation must remain aligned with evidence.

The so-called ‘GLP-1 patches’ currently lack the active compound and FDA approval.

Convenience should never supersedes safety or efficacy, and we should trust only proven solutions for patient outcomes.
