Today is day. Check in on your mama friends. Tell a mama you love that you’d like to stop by with coffee, meet her for a walk, take the baby while she showers/naps. And ask her about HER. so often we forget about moms and focus on the babies/kids. Moms need our support & love & attention. Create opportunities for them to speak, cry, lean on you, find support, talk about themselves and their mental, emotional, physical needs. Make sure the mamas you know know that they are not alone, you see them & you value them. Asking for help as a new mom is sometimes incredibly overwhelming. Offer help if you can. 💛

your story is important + you are enough.

hi! i am christine :) and the short version is that i had a very positive + empowering (albeit mildly traumatic because, well, child birth - !) birth experience with my first daughter. my husband & i chose to hire a doula (who is also a professional certified midwife & birth educator & all around incredible resource + now dear friend/mentor to me!) to support both of us in our hopes to have a no intervention birth experience with midwives. i was captivated by the entire process of birth, and realized quickly that i wanted an “in” to the birth world. when my oldest was one, i pursued a labor support doula & breastfeeding DONA training + immediately fell in love with the profession. i consider it a profound privilege to be invited to walk with families in such a special, exciting, sometimes scary, uncertain, joyous, vulnerable, and super important season in their lives. my sincere hope is that every mama knows her options during pregnancy, labor & delivery, and the precious postpartum period for caring best for herself + her new baby. birth is birth is birth, and it is always beautiful. i believe that your story is oh-so-important, to be lived + reflected upon + maybe shared - and that YOU are absolutely enough just as you are. xo, c
