🩸❤️ Annual Martin Luther King Day of Service Blood Drive ❤️🩸
We are Chicago and the cold cannot keep us down! A huge THANK YOU to everyone who showed up, rolled up their sleeves, and helped save lives at our recent blood drive. Because of your generosity, we were able to collect over 150 units at two locations.

We are so honored and grateful that so many supported the and the Chicago Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter annual drive. Every drop makes a difference !

This , we reflect on the vision of Dr. Carter G. Woodson, who established Negro History Week in 1926 to ensure Black stories were studied, preserved, and honored. For generations, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated has upheld that mission, recognizing that knowledge of the past informs present advocacy and shapes future leadership. Safeguarding history strengthens our ability to serve with clarity, purpose, and accountability.

Today, as efforts to limit or rewrite Black history persist, our responsibility to protect it remains paramount. Preserving our archives, sharing our stories, and affirming our rightful place in history is more than an act of remembrance, it is active stewardship of our legacy and culture.

We are Anchored in Our Legacy because Black history is American history.

There is still time to join the and Buy Black! Due to popular demand, the campaign has been extended!!

You too can support Black businesses wherever you are. Purchase from a Black-owned business or service provider in person or on-line OR support a Black-run charitable organization. This can include salons, restaurants, boutiques - the options are endless!

Receipts will be accepted with dates from November 1, 2025 through February 28, 2026.

Send an email copy of your receipts along with details of the Black business you supported (name, address, web address) to : economicdevel.dst.chicagoalum@gmail.com. You will be entered into a drawing for fabulous prizes.

We will tally all receipts submitted to see our impact. Let's exceed last year's incredible $1,000,000+ total !!!

🎵Who are we - my sisters and me - we are the soul steppin' sorors of DST!

The know how important it is to be healthy so that we can continue to serve the Chicago community. Sorors took on the Biggest Stepper Challenge and formed 25 teams that encouraged and challenged each other to walk, run, and move every day and logged a mind-blowing 44,870,000 steps between November 2, 2025 and January 4, 2026!!!!

Our top-performing team led by our own Chapter President Carla Pollard Stewart, logged an amazing 2,005,026 steps on their own!

The top three individual steppers pictured below are:
🔺Renee Green - 1,288,065 steps
🔺Deborah Jones-Buggs - 1,044,442 steps
🔺LaWanda Dooley 1,012,535 steps

This exhibition and sale, celebrates the beauty and joy of African American artists and cultural expression.

Featuring artists from throughout Chicago and across the nation, Gallery DST honors creativity, heritage, and the enduring impact of Black artistry. Come out to not only view but to bring some of the beauty home to your house.

As his words remind us, “tomorrow is today,” and the challenges of our time demand vigorous and positive action. Dr. King’s charge to confront the fierce urgency of now calls each of us to move with purpose by refusing apathy, rejecting complacency, and embracing our responsibility to act.

Let us recommit and refocus our efforts to meet this moment with courage and conviction. May we move beyond words to sustained, steadfast action that reflects our commitment to service and social action in the communities we serve and the broader world.
