The were proud to host our Second Annual Social Action Supper, and afternoon dedicated to celebrating leadership, service, and civic engagement here in Chicago.

We recognized five outstanding organizations making a real impact in our city: National Council of Negro Women (NCNW)- Chicago Section, Future Superstars NFP, Onyx 360, the National Council of 100 Black Women ( NCBW) and Principal Watson of the Mildred I Lavizzo IBMYP School. Their commitment to uplifting our communities inspires the work we all continue to do.

The highlight of the afternoon was hearing from the Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives, Emanuel "Chris" Welch who shared powerful insights on the road ahead for the State of Illinois and our fellow citizens. His thoughtful responses to audience questions challenged us to think deeply about the critical issues facing our communities as we approach the polls. Special thanks to Clayton Harris III who moderated the discussion.

Nearly 200 attendees left energized, informed, and ready to make their voices heard.

Democracy works best when we ALL show up.

February is Heart Health Month ❤️

Saturday February 21, the gathered the community to focus on keeping all of our hearts strong and healthy! From energizing exercise sessions to learning about heart-healthy eating habits, it was a day full of movement, knowledge, and community.

We also shared a little piece of our hearts by hosting a canned food drive to support the Maple Morgan Park Food Pantry—because caring for our community is part of heart health, too.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so special! And a heartfelt thank you to our partners at the Mildred I Lavizzo Elementary School for hosting and helping make this event possible.

When excellence meets tradition, you get Bolder and Better in motion. ❤️🤍

Our step team delivered a powerful performance at NPHC Night, showcasing precision, athleticism, and the strength of sisterhood. Their presence on the floor reflected the discipline and tradition that define our legacy — truly Bolder and Better in action.

We also proudly celebrate our Madam Regional Director, Brittani N. Blackwell (), who was highlighted during the evening. Thank you for your visionary leadership and continued impact across the region.

Enjoy this brief snippet from an unforgettable night.

・・・
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, joins the world in honoring the life and legacy of Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr., whose passing marks the loss of a towering figure in the struggle for social justice. From his early days working alongside Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., to the decades he spent carrying the movement forward after King’s death, Rev. Jackson devoted his life to pushing America toward its better self. He worked tirelessly to expand voting rights, economic opportunity, and equality, becoming a powerful and persistent voice in the ongoing fight for Civil Rights.

His presidential campaigns in the 1980s broke new ground, expanding who felt seen and included in national politics and reminding millions that they had both the right and the power to shape their own future. Through mantras like “Keep hope alive” and “I am somebody,” he affirmed the worth of those too often unheard and inspired generations to believe in their own dignity and possibility.

Reverend Jackson was not only a national leader, but also a friend and partner of Delta Sigma Theta. We were proud to recognize his extraordinary work and impact during our Centennial Founders Day Celebration in 2013, a moment that reflected the shared commitment between his life’s work and Delta’s legacy of social action.

Today, we honor his courage, his conviction, and the indelible imprint he leaves on our nation and on the communities we serve and represent. His life stands as a reminder that sustained advocacy, collective action, and unwavering faith can bend the arc of history toward justice.
